Marian Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Conroe Funeral Directors on Mar. 13, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce that Marian Tidball Scott, age 66, of Willis, Texas, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of March 11, 2026, after a difficult and courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who knew and loved Marian will forever carry the warmth, joy, and faith she so freely shared with the world.

Marian was born on July 17, 1959, in McAllen, Texas, to Marylois and Bill Tidball. She grew up with a loving spirit that would become the hallmark of her life. Marian married Lawrence Hunnicutt in 1986, and though they later divorced, their union brought into the world the greatest joy of her life-her daughter.

Marian devoted much of her life to caring for others as a home healthcare nurse for children. Her work was far more than a job; it was a calling. She poured her heart into the families she served, loving the children in her care as if they were her own. The Lord perfectly orchestrated that Marian would serve as Alexxa Valdez's nurse for ten years over two different seasons-appointments beautifully arranged by His divine timing. In a beautiful turn of grace, the Valdez family later cared for Marian in her final days, surrounding her with love and ministering to her as their own. Marian's compassion and kindness left lasting impressions on the many lives she touched.

She had a deep love for life's simple joys-music, dancing, cooking, sharing meals, tending to her plants, and caring for her beloved animals. Marian treasured time spent with family and friends, especially the ladies from her Grace Life Group at Mims Baptist Church. Her faith in Jesus was steadfast and unwavering, shaping the way she loved, encouraged, and uplifted everyone around her.

Those who knew Marian will remember her radiant positivity, her contagious laughter, and her playful, silly spirit. She had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Her heart was truly enormous, and she gave that love freely to family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers who quickly became friends.

Marian's greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Hunnicutt Calvillo, and her beloved grandson, Georgie Calvillo, who brought endless light into her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marylois Scott, and her brother, Mitchell Scott. She also leaves numerous friends who were like family behind.

A funeral service celebrating Marian's life will be held on March 21, 2026. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 10:30 a.m., at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor the beautiful life she lived and the love she gave so freely.

Though her absence will be deeply felt, Marian's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. As Scripture reminds us, "Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord." Her love will remain in our hearts until we meet again.
