Marian E. Stohlquist, 93 of Geneva and formerly of Marengo died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Bria of Geneva Nursing Home. Born May 14, 1928 in Harvard the daughter of John R. and Sarah (McClure) Davidson. Graduated from Harvard High School and married her loving husband Ronald J. Stohlquist April 17, 1948 in Harvard. She and Ronald were members of Zion Lutheran Church, Marengo. Marian was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to bake and cook for them. She also enjoyed shopping and helping her husband around the farm. Her grandchildren will cherish the time they spent with her and will especially remember the times she would read to them. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bria of Geneva Nursing Home for their compassion and the care they gave Marian over the years.
Survivors include her children, Jaclyn Kamholz and Kent (Ana) Stohlquist; son-in-law, Gary FitzSimmons; grandchildren, Sara (Kris) Greenway, Amy (Shannon) Smith, Michael (Laura) FitzSimmons, Adam Kamholz, Tyler (Tammy) Kamholz, Tony Johnston and Tina Nesbitt; great grandchildren, Carson, Ella, Emma, Maddie, Kate, Luke, Amelia, Anabel, Jolene, Scarlett, Landon and Kai.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Kristie FitzSimmons and son-in-law, Gary Kamholz.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until time of prayer at 1:45 at James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 East Main Street, Huntley. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
