Mariana Polena

Mariana Polena, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 1, 1947, in Korçë, Albania, to Gaqo and Ollga Luarasi.
Mariana built a beautiful and meaningful life centered around faith, family, and love. She shared a deep and enduring bond with her late husband, Ilia Polena, with whom she created a warm and welcoming home.
A faithful Orthodox Christian, Mariana lived her life with devotion to God, guided by compassion, humility, and grace. Her love for Christ and her commitment to the Church were constant sources of strength throughout her life, and she passed those values on to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Gjergji Zena (Aurela), Ilia Polena (Maria), Mondi Polena (Giuliana), Kristi Polena (Elda), Vasilika Polena (Erion); and by her sisters, Zhulieta Luarasi and Rozeta Luarasi. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ilia Polena.
Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. Mariana will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
