Marianna L. Mounsey

Marianna L. (Lieurance) Mounsey, 90 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at her son's home in Huntington. Marianna was born on September 15, 1932, to Lloyd C. and Edna M. Lieurance in Wells County, Indiana. She graduated from Jackson Township School in 1950 and in 1955, she married Max Mounsey. Max preceded her in death on May 25, 1978. Marianna worked as a secretary for Mounsey Truck M. Service and after they closed, she went on to become a real estate agent in Huntington, Indiana. She retired from M& R Truck Sale in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Upon her retirement, Marianna was known for her love of traveling. At the drop of a hat, she would be ready for an adventure. She was known to be a parts runner and an Uber driver. She would happily hop into the truck and go wherever her boys and grandsons would be traveling. Marianna loved to take photos of her adventures. On one trip to Las Vegas where there was no time to stop and enjoy the scenery, she was quoted to have "only" gotten 417 photos.
Marianna was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Overseas Brats and traveled with the group to many different locations, in different states and countries. She was able to go back to Berlin Germany and returned to the home that her family stayed in while her father was stationed there. She lived in Huntington County until 1991, then moved to Fort Wayne, where she lived out her remaining decades.
Loving survivors include her children, Michael D. Mounsey of Nashville, TN, Marlene K. (Thom) Hastings, West Chester, OH, Martin K. (Angela) Mounsey of Van Buren, IN, and Mitch S. (Melissa) Mounsey of Huntington, IN, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, brother, David Lieurance of Montpelier, IN, and sister, R. Jane Lieurance of Montpelier, IN.
Marianna was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Edna Lieurance, brother, Robert J. Lieurance, husband, Max Mounsey, children, Marshall Mounsey and Mark A. Mounsey, and a great grandson, Sawyer Campbell.
In honor of Marianna's wishes, a celebration of life service will be held at the home of Mitch Mounsey located at 932 E, Markle Rd. Huntington, IN 46750, on August 12, 2023, beginning at 4PM.
