Marie E. Bagley

Marie E. (Phillips) Bagley, age 98, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, November 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond R. Bagley to whom she shared 61 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2010. Born in Providence, she was the youngest of two daughters born to the late Thomas L. Phillips Jr. and Emilia A. (Batastini) Phillips.
Upon graduation from high school, Marie attended the RI Hospital School of Nursing and worked at the Crawford Allen Hospital for chronically ill children and was also a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp during WW2. Upon settling in Pawtucket with her husband, she left nursing to be home to raise her four children. She and Raymond looked forward to spending the summer at their home in Narragansett where family and friends alike would gather in the evening on the back deck. She lived for college basketball and was a longtime Providence College Friars fan and cheered them on courtside for many many games. They loved to spend summer days either on their aptly named sailboat the 'Friar' or playing golf at Pawtucket Country Club or Louisquisett Country Club.
She was blessed with a lifelong group of friends known as 'The 1st Graders.' Bound by friendship since their first day at Blessed Sacrament School, their friendship spanned across nine decades. Each Wednesday they would gather together to reminisce, talk, support each other, solve world problems and most importantly laugh. One of those women, Helene she counted as her best friend since 1932.
Marie was the devoted mother of Keith Bagley (wife, Mary), David A. Bagley (wife, Joanne), Kevin A. Bagley (wife, Karen) and Janice Boutin (husband, Charles); cherished 'Re' to six grandchildren, Matt, Jill, Kyle, Lauren, Reid and Kayla and the great-'Re' to Gavin, Cam, Wes, Teddy, Lena, Johnny, Brady, Ozzy and Ellie. She was predeceased by her older sister Jane Morris.
Marie's family would like to thank her caregivers, Karla and Jenn for the compassion and care they extended towards Marie that enabled her to stay in her home until the time she passed.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5-7pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 7pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. She will be privately interred in the family plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, it is kindly requested that each of you 'do something nice for someone else.'
