William E. McLaughlin, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Ann (Magee) McLaughlin with whom he shared 37 beautiful years of marriage. William is survived by his loving children: Lynn A. Perry (Kenneth), Theresa M. Decorpo, Debra L. Gorton and Patrick J. McLaughlin; his beloved grandchildren William Bichsel, Nicholas McLaughlin, Sean Bichsel, Anthony Gorton, Mackenzie Perry and Mark Gorton Jr; and his cherished great-grandchildren Marion Bichsel and Avery McLaughlin.
Born in Providence to the late Charles A. McLaughlin Sr. and Adeline (Hammond) McLaughlin, William also leaves behind his siblings: Thomas McLaughlin, Mary Kinsey, James McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin, Stephen McLaughlin and Arline Oakley. He is predeceased by his siblings Florence Tambini, Veronica Olson, Charles McLaughlin and Joan Cavanaugh.
A lifelong Rhode Islander, William proudly served his country in the United States Army. A devoted New England sports fan, he enjoyed trips to the casino or one of his favorite local restaurants. William was a longtime resident of Warwick, and as such, he cherished spending time at both Conimicut and Oakland Beach, though family trips to Block Island always held a special place in his heart.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, November 21, 2025, in The Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. His funeral service will begin at 12:00pm in the funeral home. William's burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, immediately following the funeral service, where he will be reunited with his wife Ann.
The family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, financial contributions be made to assist with funeral costs and sent to The Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., RI 02889. Your support during this difficult time means so much.
