Marie Bartsch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery - Pearland on Aug. 16, 2025.
Marie A. Bartsch, born March 27, 1937, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the age of 88 at HCA Mainland Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Marie was preceded in death by parents, Luther and Wilbur Ables and Willie Mae French; daughter, Thelia "Charlie" Seelbach; beloved husband, William "Al" Bartsch; sisters, Barbara Boles and Gina Feldman; and brother, Gene Ables. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Falk-Moseley and husband Wayne; her grandchildren, Melissa Falk, Mikiee Adams husband Andy, Kim Moseley partner Roy Benson, Mike Moseley, Levi Baublet wife Ashley, Joshua Baublet wife Kimberly, and Matthew Baublet wife Liz; eight great-grandchildren, Russell, Phillip, Autumn, Decker, Jaxon, Leia, Alexis, and Ezra; and three great-great-granddaughters, Raelyn, Marley, and Maddie. Marie also leaves behind her siblings: Laris Williams, Nadine Sims, Alex Learner husband Norman, Billy Nicks wife Cathie, Marlin Nicks and wife Stacy, Betty Ryan, Betty Solise husband Paul, Ginger Pickens husband Jeff, and Mary Lee Ables. She was especially close to her godson, Joshua Ables, and will be lovingly remembered by a multitude of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Beyond her immediate family, Marie had a heart big enough to embrace many others. Over the years, she "adopted" countless children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-friends of her own children and grandchildren, and anyone who simply needed to be loved. Among those she adopted by choice were Cynthia Mauck husband Jerry with their children Olivia and Hunter, Spencer Adams, Christina Claussen, Debee Buzbee, Marilyn Clay, Joanne Powers, and Paula organ. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she loved them as her own. Marie spent 30 years working as a legal secretary in the oil and gas industry in Houston, Texas. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her siblings and spending cherished time with her family. She especially loved cooking, crafting, and watching Little League baseball, as well as following other sports. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at HCA Mainland ICU, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Bayou Pines Nursing Home for the compassionate and attentive care given to Marie over the past few years. Marie's legacy is one of love, family, and resilience. She will be missed more than words can express.
