Paschal "Russell" Alexander was born on May 17, 1942, on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia, West Indies, in the parish of Anse-La-Raye to Romuald and Marie Alexander. His life's journey carried him from St. Lucia to the United States Virgin Islands and eventually to
Houston, Texas, where he built a loving home and meaningful life with his wife and children.
Russell was a dedicated, hardworking man whose hands and heart shaped every space he touched. Over the years, he worked in chemical plants, construction, and the trucking industry. Most recently, he continued doing what he loved as a Hotshot Owner Operator, transporting equipment throughout the Texas Metroplex and across Texas. Trucking was never just a job for him-it was a passion, a joy, and a craft he took great pride in.
Gifted with remarkable mechanical and construction skills, Russell was known for taking on projects big and small - expanding his home, rebuilding engines, and restoring anything that needed repair. Family, friends, and neighbors could always count on him to get a vehicle back on the road or assist with household repairs. His willingness to serve was simply a part of who he was.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Romuald and Marie Alexander, and by his brothers, Simon St. Clair and Romney Leonce.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Doreen Clarke-Alexander; his daughter, Anesta West; Daughter-in-laws, Tia Alexander and Michelle Alexander; his sons, Paschal Alexander Jr. and Donn Alexander; and his bonus son, Theo Clarke.
His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Paschal Jameson Alexander 3rd, Zoe Alexander, Chelsea Alexander, Cameron Alexander, Joshua West, Tiffany West, Jasmine West, Thea Clarke, Nikki Clarke, and Ashley Clarke.
Russell is also survived by his beloved siblings: sisters Leonise George, Marcelle Matthews, and Morina Alexander; and brothers David Alexander, Johnson Alexander and Brother-in-law, David Clarke.
He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, including:
Anysia Alexander-Archibald, Rose Marie Johnson, Virginia Obi, Sharon Matthews, and Bernice Amo, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Russell never met a stranger. He embraced people from all walks of life with kindness, warmth, humor, and acceptance. His generous spirit and welcoming heart touched the lives of everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
One thing is certain: Paschal "Russell" Alexander will be profoundly missed.
Yet the love he shared, the lives he strengthened, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
