Marie Anna Boileau

Anna Boileau of Clinton Township, died peacefully in her home on October 8, 2025, at

the age of 99. Born on Feb. 1, 1926, in Athol, Massachusetts, she was the second and

only other child of Wilbroad and Elizabeth DeGrace.

As a child, Anna's mother, a piano teacher, instilled in her a love of music and

dance which she enjoyed throughout her life. During her childhood she demonstrated her

toughness when, at the age of seven, she fought off pneumonia in a time when penicillin

was not yet used. She, along with her family, also survived the great New England

Hurricane of 1938, despite great damage to their home.

She met her husband, Vincent Boileau, during World War II when he was a sailor

stationed in Boston, Mass. In 1946, they were married in Athol, Mass., and moved to

Detroit, where they lived for five years. They then moved to St. Clair Shores, where they

spent the next 40 years. During that time Anna was a loving wife and mother to Vince

and their four children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and always kept the home neat and

clean despite having a big family. After her children left home, Anna and Vince moved

to Clinton Township where Anna spent the next 33 years.

Anna was predeceased by Vincent, her husband of 70 years, in 2016. She was

also predeceased by a brother, Wilfred (Mae) DeGrace. She is survived by her four

children, Carol (Mike) Pomper, Yvonne (Larry) Cislo, Don (Carrie) Boileau and Joann

(Bill) Cipponeri. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, David, Amanda, Emily,

Olivia and Ava, and four great-grandchildren, Miller, Nora, Chloe and Linette.
