Mass of a christian burial on Tuesday at 10am at St. Roch's followed by a burial at St. Peter's Cemetery STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Lifelong Port Richmond resident Marie Rose Bonomo, 97, a retired crochet beader and former waitress who enjoyed warm, close relationships with her nieces and nephews, died Saturday in Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Egbertville. Miss Bonomo worked for most of her adult life as a crochet beader for a bridal company in her community, retiring when she was about 75 years old. Prior to that, she worked as a waitress at Venetian Gardens Restaurant, also Port Richmond, for many years. Miss Bonomo also helped her brothers with the family business, a pigeon feed store, also in Port Richmond. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her brothers and sisters, and was devoted to her nieces and nephews, her family said. Miss Bonomo, a devout Catholic, was a parishioner of St. Roch's R.C. Church, Port Richmond. The funeral will be Tuesday from the Meislohn-Silvie Funeral Home, Port Richmond, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Roch's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
