Marie Brooks was born on July 15, 1964, to Annette Brooks and John L. Champ in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the heart of West Dallas, where she developed a deep love for family, community, and connection.

Marie was a truly family-oriented woman who treasured time with her loved ones. Her beautiful smile lit up any room, and her vibrant personality made her unforgettable. She loved to interact with people from all walks of life, always making those around her feel seen and appreciated.

A proud alumna of L.G. Pinkston High School, Marie was a member of the school’s track team, where her competitive spirit and determination shined. She also pursued modeling school for a short time, showcasing both grace and ambition. A gifted writer with gorgeous penmanship, Marie found joy in writing during her quiet moments her words often reflecting her inner strength, passion, and creativity.

Her legacy of love, ambition, and kindness will live on through her children, Mastin Oliver and Ashley Oliver, her surviving sister Bobbie Brooks, and all who had the honor of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Louis L. Brooks and Joyce Brooks, and leaves behind cherished memories that will remain with us forever.
