Marie Cabrelli (nee Brunone), age 91, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aquilino and Carmella Brunone (nee Ruggiero).
Marie was the beloved wife of the late James “Yogi” Cabrelli; loving mother of James Cabrelli (Linda), Michael Cabrelli, Maria Haley (Brian), and Alicia Cabrelli (Stephen D’Antonio); adoring grandmother of James Cabrelli, Christina Kromer (Scott), Nolan Haley, Anna Haley (Jonathan Ardary), and Erica Schiliro (Tom); caring great-grandmother of Carson Kromer; baby Schiliro on the way, devoted sister of Albert Brunone (Joyce); predeceased by brother Rocco Brunone.
Marie’s greatest joy was raising her four children and passing on family traditions. She loved spending time with her family and fostering a warm, loving environment. Marie derived great pleasure from preparing her signature Italian dishes for extended family dinners she would host on Sundays and holidays throughout the year.
Marie was also a caring and loyal friend, known for being a good listener and confidant to many. Her afternoons were filled with laughter and colorful conversation while playing games with her friends. Marie was never one to turn down an invitation. She found fun and joy in visiting friends and family, casino trips, Red Hats and traveling.
Marie was a devout Catholic, kindhearted and generous. A day never went by without her reciting the rosary, attending Mass and later in life watching Mass on TV. Marie supported various charities throughout her life. Her unwavering faith was her guiding light that sustained her throughout her long, rich and fulfilling life.
Family and friends are invited to Marie’s Visitation 10:30-12:00 Noon on Friday, February 7, 2025 at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00PM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
