Today, we gather to celebrate and honor the extraordinary life of Marie Bertha Casimir, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born on July 31, 1940, in Laplaine du Nord, Haiti, to Derouche Joseph Voltaire and Hermica Gervais, Marie lived a life marked by resilience, love, and unwavering devotion. Her family fondly recalls how this simple ritual brought her joy and inspired others to prioritize their own well-being. Her husband, Alfred, eagerly awaited her return each Saturday, always admiring her refreshed and radiant appearance.
Marie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hillcrest Nursing Home, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives.
