Marie Derivois-Jacques Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home - Hamilton on Mar. 30, 2026.
MARIE ANTOINETTE DERIVOIS-JACQUES OBITUARY

Marie Antoinette Dérivois-Jacques, 89, of Hamilton, NJ, entered into her eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Capital Health Regional surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 15, 1936 in Gonaives, Haiti. She worked for many years as a teacher in Haïti at Pont-Gaudin in Gonaives. She was the daughter of Décias Dérivois and Méladie Augustin. Marie Antoinette immigrated to the United States in February of 1986.

She was deeply involved and rooted in the Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony's Church community. Marie Antoinette was a member of the choir, she was involved in the liturgy, she brought communion to the home bound, and was a member of the Legion of Mary as well as a former president. She loved attending mass with her family and could often be found watching church services on TV such as EWTN. Some of her favorite shows to watch were Maury Povich and the Jerry Springer Show, which was odd as she tended to be a quiet person herself, never raising her voice.

Marie Antoinette enjoyed singing, parties, and loved nothing more than being surrounded by her beloved family.

She was also employed as a CNA and was a talented seamstress. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Marie Antoinette is the daughter of the late Décias Dérivois and Méladie Augustin; sister of the late: André Michel Dérivois, Francès Dérivois Joanem.

She is survived by her beloved husband Louis Pierre Jacques; her loving children, Nirve Régine Boyer-Jacques and husband Mario Boyer, Paul Robert Jacques and wife Marie Léone Fortuné-Jacques, and Marc-Elie Jacques and wife Marie Milord Jacques-Gérard; a niece Linda Dérivois, and nephew Lepesqueur Michel Dérivois who she raised as her own since 3 years old, and her cousin Junie Jean Paul who she raised since a baby.

5 grandchildren: Félissah Nirve Gaëlh Samira-Jo Boyer, Keihrah Mariohn Laetitia Boyer, Jamaël Milord Elmard Jacques, Liam Keenan Jacques, and Nathaniel Keylan Jacques.

A loving sister, Tania Doliscar Florvela; as well as her nieces Riquette Joanem-Joasil, Melissa Nicaisse, Audrey-Lillie Bing, nephew Abel Joanem-Joasil, and Cedric Logan Larry, and their families.
