Marie DeValerio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 27, 2025.
Marie (Dallara) DeValario passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 102. Marie was the daughter of the late Inez (Rialti) and Dario Dallara and the loving spouse of the late Cameillo (Casey) DeValario. The couple celebrated 69 years of marriage before Casey passed in 2012.
Marie grew up in Blairsville, PA before she and Casey settled in Levittown, PA in 1952. Original Levittown homeowners, Marie and Casey were active in the close community as they watched it grow. Marie was an active member of Saint Michaels Church and the Oaktree Civic Group where she helped with fundraising for the local community. While her family was young, Marie was a homemaker. In later years, she took a summer job as the Gate Guard at the LPRAs Brooke pool, where she thoroughly enjoyed watching the Levittown children grow up.
There was nothing more important to Marie than family. Before having children of her own, she was the babysitter of choice for family members and neighbors alike. She often returned to western PA to spend time with family there. She enjoyed trips with her sister, Marcella, and brother-in-law, the late Cotton Johnston. Marie was also an avid card player who never missed a weekly game.
Marie is loving mom to David DeValerio (Cindy) and Susan Milnes (Brian). She is grandmother to Ryan Frederick (Heather), Kyle Frederick (Mary), Matthew DeValerio and great grandmother to Goldie Frederick. Step Grand mother to Jenna (Milnes) Newman, Nolan and Laura Milnes.
Marie is survived by her sister, Marcella Johnston, and her brother, Charles Dallara, brothers-in-law George DeValario and Deacon Harry Simpson, and sisters-in-law Mary Ferrero and Toni DeValario. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by siblings Martin Dallara, Alfred Dallara, Nerina Murphy, Tim Dallara, Edith Duffy, Dolores Merlo and Richard Dallara.
Marie was loved and she will be missed. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
