Marie Yolaine Edouard, lovingly known to many as "Yole," passed away after a short courageous battle against ALS. Her life was defined by resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Yolaine was born on October 22, 1956, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she spent her early years surrounded by the warmth and traditions of her homeland. She later moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she built a life centered on family and community. She graduated from Hyde Park High School and continued on with her secondary education afterwards. For over 30 years, she devoted herself to Boston Medical Center, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues, patients, and all who knew her. She lived her life in devotion to her family, embracing her roles as mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt with a full and loving heart. Yolaine had a unique gift for bringing joy to others, always making people laugh and brightening every room she entered. Deeply connected to her Afro-Caribbean roots, she embraced the rhythms of Kompa and the bold elegance of Nigerian fashion, music, and dance. Yolaine was also an extraordinary cook, known for preparing signature Haitian dishes with skill and pride. Her home was an open door, and she welcomed everyone to her table - family, friends, and even new acquaintances. Sharing a meal with her meant being wrapped in warmth, generosity, and the comforting flavors of her heritage. Yolaine nourished not only bodies, but hearts, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Yolaine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Marcel Prosper and Monise Edouard. Her legacy of love lives on in her cherished children, eldest son Ricardo Alexandre, only daughter Jennie Alexandre, and youngest son Kiyoshi Brizard. Her six adored grandchildren held a precious place in her heart and brought her immeasurable joy: Raynah Geary-Alexandre, Xaivier Alexandre, Xenya Alexandre, Xayra Alexandre, Dante Alexandre, and Gianna "Gigi" Brizard. She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Madeleine Hyppolite, Romanes Olivier (Ketly), Rosena Pierre-Canel (Montes), Denise Edouard, and Richard Prosper, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her dearly.

Yolaine will be remembered for her strength, her boundless love, and the laughter she brought into the lives of everyone around her. Her spirit, joy, and unwavering devotion to her family and community leave an enduring legacy. May her memory continue to be a blessing to all that knew her and loved her. With her earthly journey now complete, she rests peacefully in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.

Visitation will take place at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Saturday December 13 from 2-3 PM. Funeral Service to begin at 3 PM. Relatives and friends invited.
