Marie Regina Fowler, 81, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 13, 1944 in Flushing, New York, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Lena (Gallo) D'Angelo.
Marie dedicated her life to raising her daughters and helping in her community. The wife of a career military officer, she volunteered her time helping other military wives and supporting his career. Her generosity and kindness was not isolated to just her family and friends, she gave freely and often to those in need. She shared her time and her love with people and animals and always put others before herself. Marie's "super power" was kindness. She never knew a stranger and could make anyone smile and become her best-friend instantly. Her light was infectious. Marie's joy was her grandchildren and her adorable dogs; Maggie Joy and Sadie. She dedicated her free time to driving cancer patients to appointments, feeding the homeless and caring for stray animals in need. She had an amazing sense of humor, a great laugh and made the best lasagna ever!
Marie is survived by her husband of 61 years, John F. Fowler (Col. Ret); children, Donna Deering (Jeffrey Deering), Mary Kravec (Brian Kravec) and Patricia Fowler (Col. Ret.); grandchildren, Megan Rodriguez (Tony Rodriguez) and Zachary Fowler; great grandchild due in March 2026, Amelia Rae Rodriguez; sister Josephine Maloney and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
