Marie Annette Funes was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and granddaughter. She passed away on April 7th of 2025 at the young age of 25. Born and raised in Phoenix AZ, she is survived by her parents Walter and Maria, her younger brother Leandro, her two sisters Bree and Maighread that she picked up along the way, as well as her grandparents Carmen and Marco Antonio, uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends. Marie was a beautiful soul, a ray of sunshine and she lit up any room she walked into with her signature beautiful smile. She attended elementary school at St. Francis Xavier Catholic school in Phoenix, high school at Xavier Prep and Pinnacle High School, and took her undergrad at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport. Connecticut on a D1 softball scholarship, and was pursuing her third year of law school at California Western School of Law. She loved sports and grew up playing soccer, basketball, swimming, softball, along with many others. She inherited her love for the Green Bay Packers and the Boston Red Sox from her dad. She was very competitive from a very young age, and an extremely hard worker in school and sports. She loved to have fun with her friends, party, go to music festivals and travel.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday April 22nd at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012 with a celebration of life to follow right after mass next door at Anderson Hall.
P.S. we are asking if everyone can wear or have something yellow in honor of her love for Sunflowers.

Marie Annette Funes, nuestra amada hija,hermana,prima,nieta, fallecio el 7 de Abril del 2025 a la muy joven edad de 25 años, nacio y crecio en Phoenix AZ, le sobreviven sus padres Walter y Maria,su hermano menor Leandro,sus dos hermanas que ella escogio en esta vida Bree y Read, tambien sus abuelos Carmen y Marco Antonio, tios, tias, primos, primas y muchos, muchos amigos. Marie era una alma hermosa, un rayo de luz que iluminaba cada lugar que ella visitaba con su hermosa sonrisa que la caracterizaba, ella asistio a la escuela elemental en la escuela catolica St. Francis Xavier en Phoenix AZ, high school en Xavier prep y Pinnacle high school, obtuvo su bachillerato en la universidad Sacred Heart en Bridgeport Connecticut con una veca de primera division de softball y estaba cursando su tercer año de leyes en la Universidad de California Western School of Law.
Marie desde pequeña amo jugar deportes y crecio jugando soccer,basketball,natacion,softball y muchos otros deportes mas, Marie heredo de su papa el amor a los Green Bay Packers y Boston Red Sox, ella era muy competitiva desde muy pequeñita y ella era muy applicada en la escuela y los deportes, Marie amaba pasar tiempo con sus amigas y jugar con sus little baby primos, PARTY, attender a festivales de musica y viajar.

Se celebrara una misa en su memoria a las 10 AM el Martes 22 de Abril en St Francis Xavier catholic church, 4715 N Central Ave. Phoenix AZ 85012 con una celebracion de su vida inmediatamente despues justo al lado de la iglesia en Anderson Hall.
