Marie A. Haynes

Marie A. Haynes, longtime Merchantville resident passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was 84. Born and raised in Kennett Square, PA, and a graduate of Goldie Beacom College, she also trained as a professional opera singer. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Marie was intellectually curious, loved to read history and biographies, and had a great appreciation for fine art, music, and gardens. She cultivated that curiosity in raising her two daughters whom she encouraged to follow their interests and passions. Marie had a kind and welcoming nature and would strike up conversations with everyone she met. Always youthful at heart, she had a great sense of humor and playfulness.
Daughter of the late Maria and Marino Auriti; sister of the late Colette Firmani; she is survived by her two beloved children, Marina Haynes (TJ Schepper), Andrea Haynes (Elffin Burrill); and two cherished grandchildren, Tristan and Juniper.
Graveside service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, November 22nd at the Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
