Did not find an obituary for my childhood friend and decided to put together some memories of her life.
Marie Sharon Kratky Kenealy grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut where she and I graduated from Columbus Elementary School and Central High School Class of 1968. She was one of many brothers and sisters. It was a beautiful sight to see all of them walk to school together every day.
Marie was very quiet but a very loyal friend and had a passion for animals.
She and the "love of her life", Bill Kenealy, chose Inverness, Florida as the place to spend their last years. There, Marie continued her advocacy for animals and volunteered at the Citrus County Animal Shelter. She loved all animals, but she had a special place in her heart for her dog Goldie. Marie and Bill were active at the Citrus American Italian Club where they attended many social functions. Together, they lived their dream of the "Florida life".
Marie was predeceased by her little sister Janice, in March of 2015 and the family suffered another loss when her great grandson, Jace X Paduano, left us at the tender age of six. Marie was followed in death by her big brother, John, in January of 2020.
Marie was laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Sumter County, Florida.
Rest in Peace, dear friend, We shall see you again some day!
