Mrs. Marie Fuller Massey, 90, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Daughter of the late Albert Jonah Fuller and Bessie Garner Fuller, Mrs. Massey was born May 29, 1935, at home in Meriwether County, where the country doctor had spent the night awaiting her arrival. She spent her childhood in Meriwether County and was a graduate of Luthersville High School, where she was a member of the girls basketball team. It was at a basketball game where she met Calvin Massey, a young man just returning from the U.S. Army who would become her husband two years later.

Marie and Calvin made their home in LaGrange for many years, where they raised their three children and were active members of First Baptist Church on the Square, joining the church in 1959. They enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and going on camping trips with friends and family, and Mrs. Massey loved gardening and tending to her beloved rose garden. She served as an administrative assistant for the LaGrange Board of Education for 17 years prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 69 years, Calvin Massey, as well as her sister Angeline Murphy and her brother C. A. Fuller. She is survived by her children, Eddie C. Massey, Jr. of LaGrange, David Massey of Marietta, Angela Massey Booth of Dallas; granddaughters, Hanna Booth of Atlanta, Leah Booth of Marietta; brothers, Travis Fuller and his wife Janie of Bogart, and Johnny Fuller, of Woodbury; and a number of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 24, at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange. The Reverend Paul Blair and the Reverend Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service.
