Marie C. Matulis, aged 70, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on May 25, 1954, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to the late Robert and Marguerite Thomas
She grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Marge Percella, David Thomas, and Richard Wolf, who all preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by her niece, Cassie (Chris) Guffey of Elkhart, niece Michelle Anderson, nephew Michael Percella, nieces Vee Wolf, Rebecca Wolf, Nikki Kujawa and their families and her stepchildren, Marshiela Randell of Los Angeles, California, Danielle Randell and Danny Randell, both of Atlanta, Georgia.
Marie's journey through life was marked by her commitment to education and personal growth. She earned an associate's degree that paved the way for a fulfilling career as a Licensed Drug/Alcohol Counselor. In this role, Marie touched countless lives, offering guidance and hope to those struggling with addiction.
Beyond her professional life, Marie was a passionate supporter of the ASPCA, reflecting her love for animals and her belief in the importance of kindness to all living creatures. She also embraced the Native American way of life, which deeply influenced her worldview and spiritual practices. This connection to nature and respect for its traditions were central to Marie's identity and provided her with a profound sense of peace and purpose.
As we bid farewell to Marie C. Matulis, we honor her life and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her work and advocacy. Her journey on this earth may have ended, but her legacy of compassion and service will endure forever.
