William Edward Holmes, a cherished family member, a dedicated worker, and a passionate community member, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Osceola, Indiana, at the age of 52. Born on January 23, 1973, in South Bend, Indiana, William grew up imbued with a spirit of kindness and a strong sense of loyalty that would become the hallmarks of his life.

William was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Nancy Grooms, but his memory will be treasured and kept alive by his loving family. He is survived by his sister, Judy (Mike) Grove; his niece, Jamie (Aaron) Spencer; nephews, Trevor Picking and Robert (Katie) Baker; great-nieces, Charlotte and Aurora; great-nephews, Roy, Lunan and Chase; aunts, Cheryl (Charlie) Worsham and Karen; uncle, Dennis Swisher; and cousins, Mike (Marie) Gann, Kristie (Dan) Banicki, Jill Gann, Adam (Miranda) Swisher, and Charles Worsham. Each of these individuals played a unique and important role in William's life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

William's professional life was marked by his commitment to his work as a Maintenance Janitor for Patrick Metals. His colleagues knew him as a man who took pride in his work and who could always be relied upon to go the extra mile. As a proud member of the American Legion Post #308 in Osceola, William served in the Color Guard for 9 years, honoring veterans and their families with his service.

An avid sports enthusiast, William's love for the Alabama Crimson Tide was well-known to all who knew him. His battle cry of "Roll Tide" was a familiar refrain during football season, and his enthusiasm for his team was infectious.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., October 11, 2025 at American Legion Post 308, Osceola, IN 46561.
