Marie Taylor McKay
Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Marie Taylor McKay, age 71, will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday January 23, 2025, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Crumpton officiating. Entombment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Eddie McKay, Michael Glenn, Deam Overby, Ryan Matthews, David Cook, and Jeff Malcom. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Jackson and Michael Taylor. Mrs. McKay entered into rest on Saturday January 18, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Curtis McKay and a daughter to the late Mr. Oscar Taylor and the late Mrs. Violet Janell Taylor-Snyder. Mrs. McKay was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken. She was of the Christian faith and an active member of Merritts Bridge Christian Church. Mrs. McKay loved shopping, scrap booking, collecting dolls, butterflies, listening to Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, and Elvis, and camping in the mountains and at the beach. Her last special trip was made this past September where she went to the Land of OZ in Beech Mountain, NC. Her trip to Noah’s Ark was also a very special moment for her. Mrs. McKay loved helping friends and family in many different ways. Her pride and joy was her grandson Dalton Glenn. Additional survivors include: one daughter Lisa (Michael) Glenn, Gaston, SC; three sisters Diane Cook, Bluffton, SC, Brenda Taylor, Aiken, and Angela Taylor Jacobs, Wagener; and her step father Charles Snyder, Jr., New Holland. A visitation with the family will take place from 11-1 on Thursday January 23, 2025, at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested help for the medical expenses accumulated by Mrs. McKay to her daughter Lisa Glenn at 2349 Sharpes Hill Rd Gaston, SC 29053.
