WEAVERVILLE – Marie Honeycutt Miller, age 99, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Miller was born July 14, 1926, in Yancey County. She was raised in Mitchell County and lived in Yancey and Buncombe Counties for the rest of her life. Marie was the pillar of her family when bringing them all together for Sunday dinners, as she was a wonderful cook. She thrived in her family’s presence as it was most important to her. She loved her garden, loved flowers and loved keeping her family fed. Marie was a member of Miller’s Chapel Church in Yancey County.
She was the daughter of the late Jim and Lily Adkins Honeycutt and wife of the late E.L. Miller, Sr. to whom she was married 70 years. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kasey James Houston Miller; sister, Sara Ann Jones and husband Ralph; brothers, Burgin Honeycutt and wife Evelyn, and Samuel Honeycutt; son-in-law, Kenneth Tipton; brothers-in-law, Ralph Hyatt, and Larry Frazier; and sister-in-law, Penny Honeycutt.
Surviving are her daughters, Judy Levi and husband Herbert, Janet Worley and husband Everette, and Betty Tipton; sons, E.L. Miller, Jr. and wife Lisa, and Casper Miller and wife Rebecca; sisters, Arlene Breland and husband Rhett, Nancy Hyatt, and Betty Jo Frazier; brother, Johnny Honeycutt; sister-in-law, Shelby Honeycutt; grandchildren, Russel Levi, Drake Levi, Matt Tipton, Joshua Tipton, Derrick Miller, Mason Miller, Haley Harding, Sydney Miller, and Ashley Richards; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Eric Dimsdale officiating. Burial will follow at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville.
The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
