Marie “Dee Dee” Nyhof, 79, of Phenix City, AL, peacefully left this world to enter her heavenly home on October 17, 2024, with family by her side. Dee Dee was born in Maine on January 3, 1945, to the late WWII veteran William “Bill” Raymond Focht and the stunning Delia Marie Focht.

Dee Dee was a homemaker for most of her adult life who enjoyed attending church services and church events with friends at St Patrick’s Church in Phenix City, AL. She was a proud member of the Elks Lodge Columbus/Ft Benning and served in the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and buying more items than she truly needed. She enjoyed babysitting several of her grandchildren while proudly displaying all their fine artwork in her home. She also loved attending their sporting and school events. She was a proud fur mom to her dogs, some were rescues: Pepe, Bubby, Rex, and Charlie. While she mourned the loss of Pepe and Bubby, Rex and Charlie are now with family, loving being cared for.

Dee Dee was an avid Elvis fan, and her family made sure to play his songs during her last hours here.

Dee Dee is preceded in death by her husband, United States Air Force veteran Gil Nyhof, as well as by her parents, William “Bill” Raymond and Delia Marie Focht, and her aunt, Evelyn Chase.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle McKinnon (Craig) of Salem, AL, Kelley Murray of Phenix City, AL, Tammie Williams (J.J.) of Valley, AL, and Cindy Spann (Jimmy) of Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Sky Murray (Mandy), Tymber Rothrock, Cody Williams (Shelby), Kelsie Williams, Aubrey Spann, and Alyssa Spann; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Harleigh, Cooper, Jetson, and Jay; and her dear sister, Betty Moore (Ronnie) of Woodstock, GA.
