McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral HomeMarie Paulette Brabbs Peck, age 66, of Cornelia, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Born on February 22, 1959, in Flint, Michigan, Marie was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. A devoted Christian, she carried her faith with grace and compassion throughout her life.
Marie was the proud owner of Sugar Glider Joy, where she combined her passion for sewing with her entrepreneurial spirit. Her creativity and dedication were evident in every project she undertook, often reflecting her love for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
A treasured member of her community, Marie found joy in gardening and had a deep affection for animals, traits that resonated with those lucky enough to witness her nurturing spirit.
Married to David Wayne Peck, Marie was surrounded by love from her children: Shannon Hazle (Josh), Kevin Borton (Kerri), Keith Borton, Shawn Borton (Lindsey), James Borton (Chancy), Johanna Dawes (Johnathon), and Mariah Peck. She was also a devoted stepmother to Stephani Fink, Jennifer Peck, and David Peck. Marie's legacy will continue through her 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Marie is survived by her siblings, Arthur Brabbs, Edmund Brabbs, Patrick Brabbs, Joseph Brabbs (Ann), Francine Lavacs, Annette Brabbs-Wilson (David), and Margaret Rohrer (Mike), as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will remember her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harold Arthur Brabbs and Rose Marie Lucius, and her husband, Dennis James Borton.
A Celebration of Life for Marie will be held from 2 - 5 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the James E. Willis VFW Post #8452 in Gainesville, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the remarkable life of a woman who loved deeply and gave generously. Marie's spirit will forever be woven into the hearts of those she leaves behind.
