Marie Railing Obituary

To think of Marie is to think of beautiful gardens and walls of books; she cultivated both.
She was an amazing mother and devoted wife of 47 years, always giving of herself to take care of her family. She was close with and exceptionally proud of her daughter and her son. She had a special relationship with both of her grandsons, and spending time with them brought her the greatest joy. Some of her happiest moments were spent with her hands in the dirt, creating the luscious landscape that surrounds her home.
She worked in the Florida public school system in Putnam County for 28 years, retiring as a Media Specialist from Interlachen High School. She maintained relationships with her students long after their graduations, remaining invested in their lives and their successes.
She passed from this world on July 3, 2023, at the age of 67 after a year and a half of battling lung cancer. She will be greatly missed and loved eternally.
Marie is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Chris (Leann); daughter, Valerie; grandsons, Gunner and Sawyer; brother, Dean (Grace); sister, Nicki (John); Aunt Genie; and several nephews.
In honor of her wishes, no service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of North and Central Florida, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Marie is my husband´s-Minas- cousin. I came to know her around 18 years ago after I got married to Minas. She was one of the most beautiful person - in and out , I have ever seen in my life. She was kind and caring and always had a tender loving smile on her face when she talked to people. She treated me and talked to me very kindly whenever I had the chance to visit her, as we live far away from each other. I will miss her greatly, my deepest condolences for her family near and far. May The Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on and bless her soul. The Lord gives and The Lord takes away, blessed be The Lord now and ever and unto the ages of ages amen.

To my beautiful cousin Marie,
I still remember as children going to her home in Michigan and playing with her and Dean and going out back and watch the deer in the woods.
Marie always had a smile and kind word. I will miss her greatly. To Gary, Chris, Valerie, Nicole, Dean, and Genie my utmost love and sympathy. I will miss Marie very much.
May Christ-God bless her soul.
Minas Christie and family, Monica, Chrisanthy and Constantine.
