Marie Juliet (Johnson) Shefelbine, age 88 of Ottumwa, IA and recently of Roseville, MN. Passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Marie was born March 11, 1937 in Holt Township, MN and raised with her siblings in Lanesboro, MN.
She will be remembered for her fun-loving smile and quick wit. She farmed for many years, worked in a senior care center and loved antiquing.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Benita and Clenard Johnson; brother, Clenard “Bob” Johnson; and brother-in-law, Ronald Lazer.
She is survived by her sisters, Darlene Lazer and Beverly “Peg” (Roy) Carlson; nieces, Tish (Patrick Martin) Johnson, Jodi (John) Gailliard, Cindy (Ron) Snyder, Tamara Berget Larson; nephews, Ernie (Lisa) Berget, Richard (Donna) Berget, Scott Lazer, York Johnson, Noah Johnson; and several great nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff at “The Preserve of Roseville” and the hospice staff at “Hospice of the Midwest” along with Steve Johnson, Don Sullivan and Donny Sullivan of Ottumwa, IA for all of their loving care during Marie’s time there.
Graveside Service 12:00 PM Friday, October 3 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2550 St. Anthony Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55418. Meet at the cemetery entrance at 11:50 AM.
