Born on July 27, 1932 in East Chicago, Indiana
Daughter of Anthony and Helen( Maygar) Lickwar, East Chicago, Indiana.
Lived in East Chicago, Indiana until 1944 and Hammond, Indiana until 1971.
Graduated Washington High School in East Chicago, Indiana,1951. Worked for Aetna Casualty Insurance for 5 years and then worked in the Engineering Department as Secretary to the Chief Engineer at Inland steel for 15 years until 1971, at which time she married Michael M. Strapko on June 12, 1971 and East Chicago, Ind at Holy Ghost Orthodox Church
Member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church for 38 years. Member of Altar Society, Choir and Sunday School teacher. Marie became a member at Christ The Savior Orthodox Church in 1971. Member of the Sisterhood, member for 51 years at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church in Rockford, Illinois. Member of Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, Ind since 2010.
Survived by Husband Michael Mikolaj Strapko, Rockford, Illinois.
One son, Nicholas Strapko, Rockford, Illinois
Three Brothers, Chancelor Very Rev. Joseph Lickwar(Shirley) Jersey City, New Jersey
Archpriest Rev. Vasily Lickwar(Catherine) Cumberland, Rhode Island
