Marie B. Stroupe passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 at Gilbert's Assisted Living in Beaumont with her daughter by her side. Born on April 21,1945, in Caswell, Maine to Edwina Perrault and Simon Bernier.

Marie lived a good life as a homemaker. She divorced in 1994 and met Mr. Joel Thompson of Lumberton, Texas that gave her the happiest years of her life. She traveled with a partner by her side until his death. She loved talking with her neighbors and visits from her family. She enjoyed spending time with Sheryl Wiggins, Judy Collins, and Loretta Stiebing Balla. She appreciated everything they did for her.

Marie is survived by her sister, Patricia Fortin; brother-n-law, Joseph Fortin and their children, Pam Fortin, Dwayne Fortin, and Wendy Lewis; daughter, Paula Guajardo and husband, Alex Guajardo; grandchildren; Justin Stoudt; Alex "Tuluse" Guajardo and his fiancé, Peyton Broussard; and Hardy Guajardo; great-grandchildren, Greyson Stoudt, Kinsley Stoudt and Oliver Stoudt.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Edwina and Simon Bernier; sisters, Rowina Parent, and Janette Parent; brothers, Henry Bernier, Lenes Bernier, Nathan Bernier, and Daniel Bernier; ex-husband, Gary Stroupe; and Mr. Joel Thompson.

Cremation arrangements for Marie Stroupe were handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
