Marie Evette Vaca
July 31, 1978 – September 9, 2025
Marie Evette Vaca, born in Riverside, California, on July 31, 1978, traded her earthly worries for eternal peace, leaving behind laughter, music, and the kind of love that never fades.
Marie was the very proud daughter of Gilbert and Sally Vaca of Seymour, MO, and a devoted mother to her two daughters, Marissa Bresee and Makaila Crawford of Rogersville, MO. Marie adored her son-in-law, Willard "Son" Bresee, whom she defended every single time, without question. She absolutely lit up when she became "Grandma" to "grandma's sunshine," Santana Irene and her "little brown boy," Presley Arthur Bresee, the role she was most excited to take on.
She grew up in a loving family, and her sisters Sylvia Martinez (Robert) of Riverside, CA, and Irene Vaca-Alvarado (Roger) of
Springfield, MO, knew firsthand that Marie's humor, boldness, and warmth could fill any room and heart. She was also a beloved niece to Jessie Lomeli of Seymour, MO, and the fun, loving Tia to Natalie, Carolina, Eddie, Cassandra, Sylvia, Celeste, Gilbert, Victor, Rigo, and Joseph. Whom she loved like her own. She also leaves behind her cousins Daniel Aguilar (Jessica) of Seymour, MO along with Jose "Bubba" and Isaac Lomeli of Riverside, CA, cousins who were more like brothers to her, sharing a bond that began in childhood and lasted a lifetime. To Marie, family wasn't just important, it was everything.
Marie's love for old school jams and her Dallas Cowboys were unmatched (and if you dared to argue with her about them, you better be ready to lose). She also poured her heart into her job at O'Reilly Auto Parts, where she built friendships she cherished deeply.
Known for her honesty, her witty comebacks, her bigger-than-life smile, and a laugh that could heal any bad day, Marie never pretended to be anything but real. Weekends often found her treating her parents to a meal, jamming to her favorite oldies, or gathering the family around the table for her famous meatloaf and potato salad. Everyone she loved was well-fed, well-spoiled, and well-aware of how much they meant to her.
While she will be deeply missed here, Marie was met in Heaven by many loved ones who had gone before her, including her maternal grandparents Cipriano and Margarita Aguilar, her paternal grandmother Delfina Lomeli, her beloved Tios Tony and Ruben Lomeli, her Tio Arturo "Fritos" Aguilar, and her Tia Bertha Garcia.
Marie leaves behind countless family members and friends who adored her, just as much as she adored them. She left an impression on all who were fortunate to know her. Marie reminded us to laugh often, live without fear of judgment, and always take those selfies alone or with the ones you love.
Marie was truly one of a kind, and that is how she will be remembered.
May she forever Rest in Paradise, always "California Dreaming."
