Benson, NC: Mrs. Marie Johnson West, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Rev. Virgil Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield.
Mrs. West was born in Johnston County, NC on October 29, 1944 to the late Wyatt Ransom and Bessie Florence McLamb Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Charles West; sisters and brothers, Charles Johnson, Grace Byrd, Sarah Johnson, James Johnson, Mary Lou Byrd, Sherrill Johnson, Annie Ruth Blackmon, Billy Ray Johnson, Eugene Johnson, and Roy Preston Johnson. Mrs. West retired from Flextronics in Smithfield. She was a member of Johnson’s Chapel PFWB Church in Benson. Mrs. West enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved gardening and working in her yard. Mrs. West’s priority in life was always being there for her children and especially her grandsons.
Survivors include her children, Donna West Johnson and special friend, Stacy Evans, Gela Strickland and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Cody Johnson and wife, Misty and Corey Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM-1:45PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC and other times at the home.
