Methuen - Mariette (Chakar) Hajali, beloved wife of George Hajali passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Steward Holy Family Hospital with her family by her side. She was 72.
Born in Aleppo, Syria on August 5, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Chucri and Olga (Madani) Chakar.
Mariette grew up in Beirut, Lebanon and married George on June 23, 1968 and lived in Baabda, Lebanon until emigrating to Lubbock, Texas in 1976. George and Mariette settled in Methuen in 1978 where they have raised their family.
Mariette was a devoted grandmother, mother and wife with a joyful spirit, full of life and love. She was always singing and dancing. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Surviving her besides her husband George are her three children, Carol Hajali and her husband Derek Perry, Elie Hajali, Nicole Hajali; six grandchildren, Angeli Hajali, Janae Petipas, Elias Hajali, Gabriel Rodriguez, Dante Hajali-Perry, Naliya Rodriguez, and her angel, Baby Special; siblings, George Chakar, Pierre Chakar, Samir Chakar, John Chakar; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rizkallah Chakar, Ragheb Chakar, Fouad Chakar, and Jeanette El Khoury.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mariette's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
