Elaine Czelewicz, age 71, a long-time resident of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 after a long illness.
She was born on August 4, 1954, to the late Michael Cariglia and Barbara (Bonoveto) Cariglia. She grew up in Chelmsford and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School.
Elaine enjoyed traveling with her husband, trips to the beach, cooking and dining out and going to the casino. She was a devoted long-time communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford.
She worked as a hairdresser earlier in her career and enjoyed making her clients smile. Prior to her disability and retirement, she was employed in different positions at Lowell General Hospital.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Joseph Czelewicz of Lowell; her four brothers, Michael Cariglia, Steven Cariglia and his wife, Larisa Goncharenko, James Cariglia and Thomas Cariglia; her two nieces, Anna Cariglia and Katherine Cariglia; her granddaughter, Sydney Spurrell; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was the mother of the late Marc S. Spurrell, who passed away in 2016.
Per Elaine’s wishes, all services were held privately.
