Marilyn Joyce Bodmer, 89, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL. She worked for 17 years at Borg Warner in Dixon, retiring in 1984.
Marilyn was born on January 2, 1936, in Dixon, the daughter of George and Mildred (Helander) Loescher. She married John "Jack" D. Bodmer on July 1, 1976, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2011. Marilyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon as well as the Lee County Counsel of Aging. She enjoyed traveling and taking short trips, and spending time with her church friends, family, and Siamese cat, Abby.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Martin (Cindy) Johnson of Mountain Home, AR; four grandchildren, Leslie (Ryan) Young, Kellie (Bryan) Dominessy, Lane (Kylee) Johnson, Mark (Whittney) Johnson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Debra Pierce; one grandson, Chad Martin Johnson; and 2 older brothers.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with Pastor Windau, officiating. Burial will be to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Memorials may be directed to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
