Marilyn J. (Moore) Chuderewicz
Peacefully, and under the watch of angels, Marilyn, of Monroeville, passed away on August 3, 2024. She was the loving and devoted wife of 68 years to Raymond; the beloved mother of Raelyn Gallagher (Bill), Renae O'Toole (Jim Chappel), and Buddy (Michelle Cercone); dear "Nama" to Ryan, Blair, Meghan, Katie, and Emily; great-grandmother to nine; and the treasured sister of Nancy Husak (Andy). She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Audrey Moore and infant brother Gerald.
She was a woman of great faith who loved her family and cherished her time with them. Marilyn was a talented and creative mother who could sew, knit, cook or bake absolutely anything. And she did. In addition to making many of her own clothes, she also sewed countless dresses for her daughters and granddaughters, Halloween costumes and even suits (in the 1970s) for her husband. No project was ever too difficult or complex, particularly if it was the result of a specific request. She also baked, often on a daily basis, a wide array of homemade cookies, pies, cakes and bread for her husband, children, family and friends.
In the late 1970s, she embarked on a career at Kaufmann's, quickly rising to the role of credit manager. With a keen attention to detail, she approached her work responsibilities as she did all other aspects of her life- with total care and commitment. Even while working outside of the home, she remained the ultimate nurturing and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who provided all she could for her family with devotion and love.
Over the years, Marilyn repeated a story from her mother that after passing away, seeing a butterfly should be a reminder of the love her mother had for her. Passing this sentiment down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, butterflies will always serve as precious reminders of the love she had for all of us and how much we will all love and miss her until we are reunited one day in Heaven.
Friends will be received Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 2-6 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Funeral service will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church of Monroeville. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Monroeville, 3970 Monroeville Blvd., Monroeville PA 15146. www.jobefuneralhome.com.
