Marilyn "Lyn" Corry

Marilyn Corry (Lyn), age 78, of Bostic, NC, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Lyn was the daughter of the late Allan Harvey Springer and the late Katherine Peacock Springer. In addition to her parents, Lyn was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Allan Springer. Lyn was a grateful on-line member at St. Francis Episcopal Church. Lyn's love for cooking was evident in her kitchen, where she often prepared meals for her family and her Cherry Ridge Family. She especially enjoyed making shrimp creole for the homeless in Durham, NC. Lyn worked as a Student Nurse at Duke University for many years. She loved the presence of her cats and the warmth they brought to her and her home. Lyn also enjoyed fishing in her free time. Her greatest love was for her family, who will miss her dearly.

Left to cherish Lyn's memory is her loving husband of 58 years, Donald B. Corry, her daughter, Heather Corry Briggs, and her husband Chuck, of Charlotte, NC, her granddaughter, Charlotte Briggs of Montreat, NC, and her sister, Patricia Frank of Pismo Beach, CA.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Rector's Discretionary Fund. A Celebration of her life will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 408 N Main St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139, on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11 AM.
