Marilyn Ann Gentz

HARVEY, MI – Marilyn Ann Gentz, age 93, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at home, in the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Born April 27, 1932, in Marquette, a daughter of Walter and Doris (VanCleve) Gutzman, Marilyn was raised in the Mangum Road Green Garden area and graduated from Graveraet High School. Following graduation, she met and married Heinz Gentz on June 18, 1949. Together, they built a home and raised three children.

Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, known for her cooking for both her family and the workers on the family farm. She enjoyed playing cards, boating with her family on Deer Lake in Shelter Bay, and in her younger years, snowmobiling and watching her children race snowmobiles and motocross. She also loved going on cruises with her daughter Crystal and spending winters in Florida with her husband.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Cathy) Gentz of Marquette and Mike (Carmen Cobe) Gentz of Marquette; her grandchildren, Charlie (Vicky) Gentz of Marquette, Tony (Kristi) Gentz of Marquette, Jessica Gentz of Green Bay, Andy Gentz of Marquette, and Jacob (Allyssa) Gentz of Marquette; her great-grandchildren, Connor (Sabrina) Gentz of Marquette, Callie (Matt) Gentz of Marquette, Aiden Gentz of Marquette, Gia Gentz of Green Bay, Landon Gentz of Marquette, and Lincoln Gentz of Marquette; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved canine companion, Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Heinz Gentz; her daughter, Crystal Campbell; her brother, Charles Gutzman; and her sisters, Delores Gentz and Kay Jones.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, 914 W. Baraga Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855.
