Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 31, 2025.
MARQUETTE Fay Diane (Jetty) DeRusha, age 86, of Marquette, Michigan, entered eternal life Sunday
morning December 28, 2025 at home in Marquette, in the loving, comforting care of her daughter, Shelly,
whom was her sole caregiver and rock for the past 14 years.
Born on August 11, 1939, in Negaunee, Michigan, Fay was the daughter of Albert Aloysius Jetty and Alma (Peterson)
Jetty. She attended St. Paul's High School in Negaunee graduating in 1958. She spent much of her time
employed at the North Spot in Marquette, where she was known for her dedication and strong work
ethic.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandma, Fay was known to enjoy life to the fullest.
She found her greatest joy in spending time with her three grandchildren Jerad, Terra and Melissa,
whom she treasured deeply. She went on many adventures with her grandkids from places like the SOO
Locks, trips to Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, the Toonerville Trolley and Riverboat tour to
Tahquamenon Falls and countless camping trips. Fay cherished spending time with her family at her
home especially during the holidays. When she wasn't spending time with her family, she also enjoyed
visiting the casino, going for walks or spending time with her companion Allen.
Fay is survived by her son, Terry (Ren'ee) DeRusha of Michigamme; daughter, Shelly (Wayne) Rosin of
Marquette; her grandchildren, Jerad (Carrie) DeRusha, Terra (Jeff) Brugman, Melissa Lehtomaki (Josh
Wanberg); her great-grandchildren, Brody, Grant and Adelynn Brugman, Braylon Hattula, Cameron
Egan, Lillian and Zandyn Wanberg. In addition to her parents, Fay is preceded in death by her husband
of 52 years, Grant "Peachie" DeRusha, whom she married July 25, 1959; her brother, Albert "Bert" Jetty;
as well as step-sister, Eva Koski; Eva's daughter, Bonnie Miller (Koski); mother and father-in-law, Frances
and Harry DeRusha; and her sister-in-law, Carol Beauchamp.
In accordance with Fay's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
