HARRIS, Marilyn Edith (Brownrigg) – of Lapeer, MI, age 84, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Friday, September 13, 2004 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harris Family, in Marilyn's memory.
Marilyn was born in Flint, MI on July 23, 1940, daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Formby) Brownrigg. She was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School in Mount Morris, MI Class of 1958 and later earned an associate degree from Baker College. On July 22, 1961, Marilyn married the love of her life, Bobby L. Harris. Together, they crafted a life rich in love and shared passions. They built and ran their family business, Championship Trophies, from 1980, retiring after over 30 successful years. Bobby's passing on September 29, 2015, left a void, but their shared memories and enduring love remain a testament to their remarkable bond. A devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Marilyn was an active participant in her community. Her vibrant spirit was evident in her many interests: she was a dedicated bowler, making numerous trips to national tournaments, and a talented softball coach. Her passion for the Detroit Tigers, country music, going to the casino, and the great outdoors was rivaled only by her enthusiasm for family adventures. Sunday road trips with Bobby, camping, fishing with her sister Jeannie, and hunting with her family were highlights of her life. Marilyn's green thumb transformed her garden into a haven of vibrant flowers, and her homemade pies and jam earned legendary status among family and friends. Her radiant smile, often described as a "million-dollar smile," brought joy and warmth to those around her. Marilyn's kindness, unwavering spirit, and deep dedication will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. Marilyn's smile and the warmth she shared will be remembered with enduring fondness and affection.
Marilyn is survived by 4 children, Scott Harris, Wayne (Jennifer) Harris, Kelly (Andy) Gagnon and Douglas (Teresa) Harris; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Nakoneczny, Sheawn (Nicole) Harris, Jessica Harris, Joseph (Katie) Harris, Joshua (Brittany) Harris, Shane Gagnon, Alyssa Harris and Nicholas Harris; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Marge Pariseau, Jeannie Stiglich, Daniel (Donna) Brownrigg and Anne (Jack) Davis; sister-in-law, JoAnn Brownrigg; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mary Brownrigg; husband, Bobby L. Harris; daughter, Lynn Harris; grandson, Anthony Harris; 6 siblings, Fran (Jacob) Taylor, Dennis Brownrigg, Gerald (Norma) Brownrigg, Aggie (Rich) Binkley, Janet (Virge) Wiese and Howard Brownrigg; 2 brothers-in-law, Vince Pariseau and Bill Stiglich.

We met Bob & Marilyn when we first moved to Lapeer. We laughed, shared the birth of children, had many coffee nights and bowled together for many years. Ron & Dorothy Devantier
