Marilyn Honerkamp was born on October 18, 1932, in Bellville, Texas, to parents Otto Honerkamp and Lula Wietstruck Honerkamp. She passed away on July 3, 2025, in Conroe, Texas.
Marilyn AKA Aunt Baby, graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston on June 2, 1950. She was a member of the Black Battalion Drill Team. She also gave the commencement address. After graduation, she began working for the Citizen State Bank of Houston. While there, she became good friends with Nell Crawford. The bank was sold to Bank of America, where she became a loan officer. In the meantime, Marilyn and Nell became an item, and he wanted to build her a home, but she declined. She worked at Bank of America until she retired.
Marilyn lived with her parents in Houston until they passed. She then lived with her sister and nephew in Houston after her brother-in-law passed. She took care of her sister, Geraldine, who suffered from a stroke, cancer, and finally Alzheimer's, and she took care of her until she passed.
Marilyn then moved to Conroe with her nephew Jesse in 2013. Aunt Baby loves to do laundry, so Jesse bought her an LG side-load washer and dryer, and she did laundry three times a week.
A few years later, Aunt Baby had to be moved to Park Manor in Conroe. Aunt Baby never married. She believed in God, looking nice when leaving to go out on the town. She loved good food and nice things. She was a generous, good person, and she will be missed.
