nee Pravdo. September 5, 2024. Wife of the late Allen. Mother of Susan Honigman (Steven Dennis) and Marni Honigman (Neil Weissman). Sister of Ruth Burstein and the late Simone Zelnick. Grandmother of Jenna and Jacob Weissman.
Just two weeks after losing her beloved Allen, Micki was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and began chemotherapy while deep in mourning. Micki’s lifelong strength of character remained steadfast, dimmed but ever-present. Despite the ups and downs of her health in her later years, Micki remained active, participating in chair yoga twice a week, attending current events classes, and enjoying movies at the KleinLife Community Center and the Huntington Valley Library. On treatment days, Micki would stop by Panera for lunch, where she quickly became a familiar face, delighting in her loyalty card perks.
Micki ventured out daily, always impeccably dressed. More than anything, she cherished her time with family and friends. Weekend visits with her grandchildren, Jenna and Jacob, brought her immense joy, and she beamed with delight in their presence. Lunches with dear friends, who introduced her to the wonders of thrift stores, were another highlight, providing comfort and connection as she navigated life without Allen.
A passionate reader, Micki eagerly sought out the latest books by Daniel Silva, Harlan Coben, and others. Micki had a special fondness for the Wall Street Journal, often clipping and saving articles of interest to share with loved ones. Reading sustained Micki after the passing of her cherished Allen.
Micki's brave three-year battle with cancer was inspiring to all who witnessed it. She leaves behind a legacy of love, caring, enduring friendships, and treasured memories, along with countless stories from a life well lived.
