Marilyn Elizabeth Kirchmeyer (Sander) of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025 She was born on March 7, 1945 to William and Anna Sander. She was married to John Charles Kirchmeyer Sr. the love of her life on May 27, 1967. Together they built a home filled with laughter, warmth and love. Their marriage of 58 years was a true partnership. Weathering life's challenges and celebrating so many joys side by side.
She was a woman defined by her resilient spirit and insatiable curiosity of the world. She embraced life with a fierce independence and a passion for exploration. Her life was a testament to strength, a captivating journey of adventures big and small. She had a deep well of love for her family. Her faith in God gave her strength and inner peace throughout her life.
A devoted wife and mother she instilled in her children a sense of adventure, appreciation for different cultures, and the importance of perseverance. She encouraged them to see the world. She was most herself with a suitcase in hand. Whether it was a long road trip or a weekend trip to Truman Lake she found joy in new horizons.
Her stories and vibrant spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, John. Siblings, Phyllis Lerman and Larry Sander. Children Kim Pollard and John Jr. Grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Zack Pollard, Hailey Kirchmeyer, Nick Kirchmeyer Great Grandchildren, Jaycee Henry and Maddox Arreola.
