Marilyn Delores Lange, age 94, a current resident of the Westfield area passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Thedacare Medical Center, Berlin. She was born in the town of Crystal Lake on November 1, 1930, to Alfred and Della (Koechel) Daye. On June 22, 1963 she married Edward Lange at Zion United Methodist Church, Neshkoro. Marilyn worked various jobs through the years being a homemaker, helping on the farm, but most importantly being a mom was what she loved doing best. Marilyn had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. She found great pleasure in spending time outdoors, often seen wandering through her yard, collecting sticks, and connecting with nature. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her fondness for cozy evenings at home, where she would enjoy watching game shows on TV, putting together puzzles, and listening to the timeless music of Elvis Presley. But there was one thing that always brought her immense joy—watching the Lakers, particularly LeBron James, dominate on the court. Her greatest joy came from the moments spent with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marilyn was a nurturing presence, always ready with a warm hug, a listening ear, and words of encouragement. Her laughter and love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Edgar Lange, Julian Lange, and Hope (James) Spillner; her grandchildren: Christopher (Kayla) Lange, Courtney Zunker, Ariel Spillner, Michelle (Brian) King, Jackie (Jeff) Kolb; and her great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Addison, Callie, Connor, Kenna, Gabe, Isaac (Indy), Lydia, Dayton (Kay), Ashton, and Nathaniel, and her great-great grandchild Jaxson. She is also survived by her sisters: Valois (Gus) Ponto, Vivian Loomis, and sister-in-law Kathy (Henry) Rivera; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Walter and Emma (Slife) Lange, her husband Edward Lange, three brothers: Clayton Daye, Harold (Mavis) Daye, Dwayne (Viola) Daye, three sisters: Marcella Daye, Ione (Earl) Simkins, Elberta (Russell) Reetz, as well as brothers-in-law Ronald Loomis and three sisters-in-law; Elnora (Harold) Juhnke, Doris (Arlie) Marquardt, and Caroline (Ervin) Briese.
As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember her warmth, her kindness, and her unwavering love for family. Marilyn will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Grace United Methodist Church, Wautoma. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30AM until the time of services at 11AM.
