Marilyn Leveling Obituary
She was born on Dec. 15, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, to Loren and Margaret Beery Turbett. She was a homemaker and a lunch lady at the junior high in Fort Madison for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She married John Richard Leveling on Aug. 19, 1956 in Burlington. She enjoyed working outside, shopping, traveling to Arizona, Hawaii and all over the United States. She loved to watch TV, especially the Cowboys, Hawkeyes and Cubs.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, John Leveling of Fort Madison; two sons, Jerry (Connie) Leveling of Fort Madison, and Nick Leveling of Fort Madison; four grandchildren, Nichole Leveling of Fort Madison, Michelle Chapman of Riverview, Fla., Nolan Leveling of Fort Madison and Nadia Leveling of Fort Madison; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Leveling, Connor Chapman, Owen Chapman and Kennedy Chapman; and one brother, Floyd "Pete" (Marlys) Turbett of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-granddaughter, Everly Chapman; one brother, Harold "Terry" Turbett and one sister, Martha Mae Turbett.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dave Poland officiating. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
