Marilyn M. Matson, age 82, passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, NE on June 6, 2024.
Marilyn was born in McCook, NE, on March 1, 1942, to parents Orville and Elsie (Barger) Shull. She attended McCook High School where she graduated with the class of 1960.
Marilyn married Wayne R. Matson in Las Vegas in the year 1981. Marilyn and Wayne were married for 37 years until Wayne’s passing on March 29, 2002.
Throughout her life she worked at Mac’s Drive Inn for 20 plus years and then owned and operated her own cleaning service. Marilyn loved playing Farkel with friends, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Marilyn will be remembered most for helping others and her outgoing personality.
Marilyn is proceeded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charlie Shull; sisters, Judy Rohr and Vonda Brunswick; and daughters, Debra and Kathy.
Survived by son, Clifton (Jennifer) Matson of Lincoln, NE; granddaughters, Holli Matson and Brittany Dawn Schlund; grandson, Micheal Kiel; nieces, Carol, Brenda, Karen, and Tracie; nephew, Jerry; best friend, Mary Howard; and many extended family members.
Memorials contributions are suggested to First Assembly of God Church, 811 East C Street, McCook, NE 69001.
A private family burial was held prior to the memorial service.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at First Assembly of God Church in McCook, NE with Berry Johnson officiating.
