With deep love and heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Marilyn McCoy, who passed away the night of September 17th 2025.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an amazing grandmother whose presence was a constant source of warmth and comfort. She lived her life with grace and faith, always placing her family and God in the center of all she did.
She had a passion for writing, often putting her thoughts and creativity into words that reflected her caring spirit. She loved teaching, history and traveling. Marilyn also found joy and strength in her faith. She was active in the community at First Baptist Church of Garland, where she loved worshipping, fellowshipping, and serving others.
To her family, Marilyn was more than a wife, mother and grandmother — she was a guiding light, a listening ear, and a source of unconditional love. Her legacy will live on in the lessons she taught, the stories she shared, and the love she poured so freely into the lives of those around her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Dan, Her children Gary and Joe and her grandchildren Aiden, Kathryn, Isla and Dani, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Marilyn’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
