Marilyn Faye McMinn, age 80, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 1st, 2023. Born on November 23, 1943, in Ballinger, TX Marilyn's life was a testament to the joy and beauty that one person can bring into the world.
Marilyn lived a rich, full life alongside Olan McMinn, her beloved husband of five decades. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Olan, her cherished daughter, Dana Heubner, and her dear sister, Rhonda Broadway.
Her spirit lives on in her loving children: Toni Schuman and her husband, Al; Keith McMinn; Dee Dee and her husband, David Kude; and Sheri McMinn with Jason Marshal. Her 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who were the apples of her eye, each one carrying a spark of her vibrant spirit and generous love.
An avid gardener, Marilyn's hands brought forth the beauty of nature. Her rock collection was a reflection of her appreciation for the small wonders of the natural world, a hobby that brought her great peace and satisfaction.
Marilyn's laughter was indeed infectious; it could light up a room and bring instant warmth to any gathering. She was a woman whose faith was unfaltering, providing her with an endless well of compassion and a perspective that sought out the good in every part of her journey.
As we say farewell to Marilyn Faye McMinn, let us remember a woman whose life was a canvas of love, resilience, and a celebration of the simple things. Her love for her family, her faith, and the quiet joy she found in her gardens will forever be cherished and will continue to grow in the hearts of those who loved her. Marilyn's memory will always be a bright, enduring flower in the garden of our lives.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM with a celebration of life ceremony to follow at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. The interment will take place at Crews Cemetery in Ballinger, TX at a later date. Reverend Kenneth Bowers to officiate.
