Marilyn Nancy Millis, age 77, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 18, 2025. Marilyn was a devoted mother, loving daughter, proud grandmother, loyal friend, and a deeply admired school teacher whose warmth and dedication touched countless lives.
She spent 24 years shaping young minds as an elementary teacher for the El Paso Independent School District. Known for her patient guidance, boundless compassion, and unwavering belief in every child’s potential, she left a lasting mark on generations of students, many of whom continued to stay in touch long after they’d left her classroom.
Marilyn’s greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart into raising her three children, and she will be forever remembered for her gentle wisdom, loving and generous spirit, and unwavering support.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Millis and Socorro Wright Millis. She is survived by her children: Tami Jones-Davidson (husband Corey), Christopher Jones (wife Beth), and Jerry Jones Jr. (wife MaryAnn); and her beloved grandchildren: Riley Jones, Jace Jones, Luke Jones, Rhett Jones, and Lyla Jones. She is also survived by many extended family and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Homes–West. A Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa St.
